I am sat at work writing this, the time is 09:37 and I have been at work for 2 hours already and have still got 11 hours left...awesome!!
This week was not a great week, it started out great and then fizzled out pathetically. I have realised that I need warmer clothing as I am spending longer out in the cold and after about an hour my warm layers are just not warm anymore... I also need to be stricter with my time, and maybe more assertive at work.
This week there is no point in writing per day as I notched up a measly 3:45:00 worth of exercise time and only covered 41.5kms. I am not sure what went wrong as on Tuesday I did a strength session in the gym after work, then I cranked out an hour on the indoor trainer at my prescribed heart rate and then went for a half hour run. I felt fantastic and enthusiastic and strong.
I chilled on the Wednesday with my rest day and then on Thursday it all started going wrong. I started a session on the indoor trainer and I couldn't get my heart rate up without massive effort, a side effect of getting fitter I think, and when I did get it up I couldn't maintain the pace. Everything was wrong, I couldn't get comfortable on the saddle or on the bars, my feet went numb very quickly, my trainer started making strange noises and after 45 minutes I just couldn't hack it anymore and so like a coward I slipped off to the bathroom and had a bath...with bubbles!!!
Friday was going to be the day I made up for Thursday, as I had the day off work, yet when I bent down to put my shoes on I nearly passed out. I felt like I was going to throw up and so dashed for the bathroom and on the way I nearly fell over as I felt as dizzy as if I had just stepped of a roundabout at the park...not good. I didn't throw up but as I sat quietly sipping a glass of water waiting for the awful sensations to pass I realised that I probably shouldn't risk going for a ride if I could barely stand up. I ended up sleeping for a large part of the day and felt better by the evening. Saturday was just plain cold and I chickened out of that... I did however manage to fit in a eye check and buy a new pair of glasses, return some unwanted goods and get the monthly shopping done...Yay :-/

Next week is going to be tough as I am working all wierd hours, however I have drawn up spreadsheet of hours to try and get my 8 hours of training in...bring it on.

So sorry you didnt feel well but glad you listened to your body. Next week will be better I am sure but just go 'hambagashlee'
ReplyDeleteSmart move holding off with the run after nearly passing out.Trust if it happens again you will consult your doctor.Its admirable what you are doing but be careful.
